On Fridays WDVX takes the Blue Plate Special to Barley’s Taproom & Pizzeria for “The Big Plate”. Here’s the calendar. It’s always free to join in so please don’t be shy. From blues to bluegrass, country to Celtic, folk to funk, rockabilly to hillbilly, local to international, it all part of the live music experience on The WDVX Blue Plate Special. Hosted by Jay Clark with special guests Maddie McCullough and Stephen Simmons. Blount County’s Jay Clark has been a staple in the East TN music for more than 20 years. Local favorite, Maddie, is a guitarist and songwriter from Blount County, while Stephen is a Nashville singer-songwriter known for his contemplative country and finger-picked folk to rugged and ragged blues-rock. Showtime is 7pm (doors open at 5:30pm). $15 tickets ($10 for Maryville College students with ID). This listener-focused concert series invites guests to settle in for an evening of storytelling, songwriting, and Southern soul — a true music experience.
